Comprehensive Eye Exams

Annual eye exams are critical to your ocular & overall health.

Your eye exam is much more than just updating your glasses and contact lens prescription. Our exams are always thoughtful and comprehensive. Early detection and prevention is at the forefront of our approach in your eye care.

During your appointment, Dr. Chau will walk you through the steps of the eye exam and take the time to answer any questions you may have about your eyes. This is your time, and we want to make sure you get the most out of it.

Even if you have perfect 20/20 vision, it's important to get your eyes checked regularly to ensure they stay healthy. Regular eye exams for all ages is an essential part of preventive health care, and a key part in maintaining good eye health and strong vision for life.

Just like going to the dentist to prevent cavities, regular eye exams can catch potential issues before they become bigger problems in your ocular health.

Let’s give our eyes the love and care they deserve.

What does your eye exam include?

1.

Dr. Jason will conduct a series of tests during your exam to determine both your vision prescription and the overall health of your eyes. These tests will check for the presence of eye diseases, vision problems, general health problems and signs of other diseases (stroke, hypertension, and diabetes).

2.

We use retinal scans to diagnose and monitor any eye conditions, and an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan to provide a detailed image of the back of your eye. These scans allow us to have a detailed view into the inner layers of your eye to detect any abnormalities or indications of desease before these manifest as apparant symptoms. Our screenings also cover diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal detachments, macular degeneration.

3.

We emphasize on thoughtful care and our exams are more than just a vision test. Early detection and prevention are at the forefront of our approach to eye care. Dr. Chau goes through each step of the eye exam, and test results with you - so you go home knowing more about your eyes than when you got here!

At Innovation Eye Clinic, your eye exam is all about you. You will never feel rushed. During your appointment, I will walk you through the exam and answer any questions you have. This is your time, and we're here to make it count!”

Clear vision is an unbeatable superpower!

Healthy vision is essential to children’s learning inside and outside of the classroom. We recommend children have their first comprehensive eye exam starting at 6 months old.

Visual problems can affect learning, and it can be frustrating for your child to attempt to explain what’s wrong - they might not even realize they are experiencing vision problems. We can assist by identifying potential issues before they arise, and by helping to manage them alongside your family.

And the best part? Eye exams for children ages 19 and under are covered by OHIP, so there's no excuse not to give your child's vision the superhero treatment it deserves. This exam provides a baseline of their vision, and any vision challenges can be addressed early before they get in the way of learning and experiencing the world with confidence and joy.

At Innovation Eye Clinic, we're all about making sure every child in our community has the best vision possible - and we're dedicated to making it a fun and stress-free experience for the whole family.
